Self-Assessment for Participation in Embedded Instruction California 2022-2023

Classroom Information Children must be enrolled in an inclusive classroom which is defined as a classroom providing instruction to a child with a disability where the child receives a minimum 10 or more hours per week in an instructional setting with same-aged peers.

Additionally, you will be asked in the self– assessment if the special education supports and services (such as special instruction, speech and language, occupational or physical therapy) are provided in the classroom.

Special education supports and services allow the child with a disability to have equity, access, participation, and educational benefit. Child outcomes from the Desired Results Developmental Profile demonstrate that children achieve greater educational gains when special education supports and services are provided during everyday preschool routines and activities. In fact, all children demonstrate gains in social-emotional, empathy, and friendship skills.
